Gallagher’s Boxty House has been a central pin of Temple Bar for over twenty five years. As the restaurant name suggests, the humble potato is transformed and showcased in many of the dishes on the menu. There are numerous choices on the menu that are suitable for coeliacs. All of the Boxty products are made with Dove’s Farm Gluten Free Flour meaning that you can sample some wonderful combinations such as chicken and smoked bacon or the Gaelic Boxty which has fillet beef medallions and Irish Whiskey and mushroom sauce. There is also a vegetarian Boxty option available. The restaurant does not allow regular flour products into their fryers so their chips are also ok, but always double check. Potato starch is used to thicken their sauces and soups are only ever thickened with potatoes. Many of the desserts are also gluten free including the highly rated Baileys Cheesecake.
